Here are our betting tips for the Premier League GW 18. We’ll pick our two best ideas from both Saturday and Sunday. These tips are based on our algorithm used in the Fixture Tracker page.

Premier League GW 18 – Saturday’s picks

Brighton vs Sheffield United betting preview and prediction

Brighton have turned a 3-match losing run around in December. Seagulls have played three strong matches in a row against Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Arsenal. On Monday, they dominated the game in London and should have beaten Palace 0-1 based on the xG numbers.

Seagulls are currently 13th on standings and playing pretty much expected season. This is not the case with the visitors, though. Sheffield United have simply been fantastic. Blades have won two in a row and gave no chances to Aston Villa either last Saturday.

What’s amazing is the fact that United are yet to lose a match away from home. They are 2-6-0 after eight matches with just seven conceded goals. Only Liverpool are still unbeaten on their travels.

It’s certainly no secret that United have got their success through excellent defending. Only Crystal Palace (2,00) have a lower goal average per match than Sheffield United (2,18). Blades have brought lots of profit for under-backing punters and there’s no reason to expect this trend to change here.

Under 2.5 goals with odds around 1.70 presents a fantastic value – our algorithm predicts just 2.14 goals in this match. Correct score pick: 1-1 FT.

Manchester City vs Leicester betting preview and prediction

Manchester City returned back to winning ways by destroying Arsenal at Emirates. City and Kevin De Bruyne looked fantastic. Though, this doesn’t help much in the big picture. City are 14 points behind Liverpool and practically out of the title race even before X-Mas.

City have already been beaten twice at home soil as well. Last time this happened just two weeks ago, when Manchester United shocked City with a deserved win. This team is simply not the machine we’re used to seeing in the previous two seasons.

Leicester are amazingly above Manchester City in standings after 17 rounds. Foxes did something similar four years ago when they shocked the world by winning the Premier League title. There are still many players in the starting XI from that team, including the top scorer Jamie Vardy.

But even Leicester can fail at times and last week’s home draw against Norwich was one of those events. Foxes still should have won the match, but they simply weren’t at the normal level. This draw also ended a run of eight consecutive wins stretching all the way to mid-October.

The gap between these teams hasn’t been this small in four years. To give Leicester a +1.5 handicap feels absurd here. We’ll take it with 1.85 odds.

Premier League GW 18 – Sunday’s picks

Watford vs Manchester Utd betting preview and prediction

Basement Boys Watford didn’t stand a chance at Anfield last weekend and lost expectedly 2-0. Hornets are once more in a run with no goal scored in three consecutive matches. It hasn’t even helped to get their Captain and top scorer, Troy Deeney, back.

Watford was the first team to sack their manager this season. Hornets didn’t get much better under Quique Sánchez Flores, who also lost his job on the 1st of December. Nigel Pearson tries to pull this team to safety, but it looks extremely difficult.

Manchester United have shown plenty of positive signs recently. Red Devils dropped two points against Everton last Sunday but played a strong match regardless. Prior to this, they defeated both Man City and Tottenham in consecutive matches.

United defense has leaked some unnecessary goals recently, but it’s been quite solid in the big picture.

Our algorithm expects just 2.03 goals in this match. United have a 50% chance for a clean sheet here against weak and unconfident Watford attack. We bet under 2.5 goals at 2.00 odds. This is a great offer!

Tottenham vs Chelsea betting preview and prediction

Tottenham became the 2nd team in Premier League to sack their manager in late November. Since that, Arsenal, Watford, and Everton have also joined the club. It seems that Spurs are the ones who made the right choice.

Mauricio Pochettino was replaced by Jose Mourinho, who has certainly lifted the spirits in London. Spurs have won four out of five Mou’s matches and jumped all of sudden to fifth position – just three points behind Chelsea.

Mourinho has revitalized the Tottenham attack, which has been firing on all cylinders. They’ve scored 3+3+1+5+2 goals since he took over. Last weekend Spurs even defeated strong Wolves at away 1-2.

Chelsea’s trend is the exact opposite. Blues started the season really well, but now they are free-falling out of the top four. Chelsea has been defeated four times in the previous five matches. Last weekend they somehow managed to lose to Bournemouth 0-1 at home.

Blues have also leaked more goals than any other top 9 teams. Out of the top 14 teams, only Gunners have conceded more. This is not a good record when visiting in-form Tottenham.

These London derbies are often wild events and this should be no different. We bet over 3.5 goals at 2.40 odds.
